Dr.Shamsheer Vayalil ,a gulf based Indian origin doctor investing 150 million pounds in British health Sector
London: Dr.Shamsheer Vayalil , the founder and managing Director of VPS health care, a gulf based company that owns and manages a chain of hospitals in the region and in India is opening a super speciality cancer hospital in west London with the latest technology currently not available in NHS hospitals.
The 150-bed hospital will occupy a historic grade II-listed property that was the former home of Royal Masonic Hospital, which became the Ravenscourt Park Hospital in 2002, but closed down in 2006.The new hospital will start functioning in 2017.
The hospital will be with proton beam therapy facility a service which is not available in NHS hospitals at present.
This will be a boost for the U.K economy since it will create hundreds of jobs while at the same time bringing in wealthy private patients from across the globe in to the U.K promoting health tourism and generating income for the country.
While attending the launch I was looking back with pride at the level of sustained contribution that India and people of Indian origin have been making to British medical care, NHS to be precise for the last 50 years supplying skilled staff, nurses and doctors .
