Indian face criminal charge in Dubai for filming another Indian beaten up by a U.A.E national

Dubai: An Indian is facing criminal prosecution in Dubai for taking the video footage of another Indian being attacked by a U.A.E national. The vedeo footage was later uploaded in you tube and viewed by thousands. The brutal attack took place in a public place ,on road according to the unedited video footage.


The victim of the incident was a van driver .According to the local media ,the attacker is a Dubai official.” the driver, who works for private company in Dubai, hit the car of the official. ignoring the accident the driver tried to continue the journey. The official seen followed him, and stoped him to shout at him and then begins to beat him using his head band, a traditional Emirati head ornament. The Indian man did not t defend himself. A passerby then intervened to plead with the official to leave the man alone. Says the local media.


Prosecutors have started questioning the Indian man who used his mobile phone for secretly film the attack.


“The U.A.E citizens family lodged a complaint to Police accusing the video footage breaching their privacy and libelling them by uploading the assault video on the social media network. In their complaint the family is alleged that they have been defamed as thousands have seen the video.An investigation hearing at the prosecution was held on Thursday and it continues on Sunday as the investigating prosecutor is scheduled to hear more witnesses. punishment could face up to two years in jail or a maximum fine of Dh20,000.


The attacker also is arrested later according to some reports.
