Rajinikanth made his grand entry into the social media world on Monday, three days ahead of the release of his movie Kochadaiyaan, but even before the first tweet was published at 4 pm, there were more than 20,000 followers. "Salutation to the Lord. Vanakkam anaivarukkum !! A big thank you to all my fans. Excited on this digital journey," the superstar tweeted at 4 pm, a few hours after his Twitter account was created. Even before the superstar had tweeted or followed any one on Twitter, his account — Twitter.com/SuperStarRajini — became a social media phenomenon as the number of his followers increased minute by minute. The account had just 499 followers at 3 pm, but in just one hour the number of followers crossed 20,000.
