UK offers scholarships to 12 Indians

London: Britain has offered an all-expenses- paid scholarship programme at the King's College here to 12 future leaders of India. Under the programme, 12 future leaders from the country will be offered an intense, all expenses-paid, 12-week course at the King's College, London, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said on Thursday. Applications for the Chevening Gurukul Scholarships for Leadership & Excellence, FCO's premium scholarship scheme for India, are invited until January 24 next year. The scheme provides a unique opportunity for brightest minds in India to interact, debate with world's most influential thinkers through a combination of closely supervised project work, academic courses, field visits and seminars. The course, open for Indian passport holders only, will run from late September to mid December 2014. It is targeted at mid-career professionals with a minimum of 5 years work experience, proven academic ability and leadership skills.
