An open letter to Arvind Kejriwal

Dear Esteemed Hon Arvind Kejriwal,

Congratulations on your splendid victory against the monstrous, seemingly incurable cancer of corruption that continues to plague India. The collaborationist all-powerful Indian media wrote you off as a romantic living in cloud cuckoo land, but you shocked them with a well deserved victory for your Aam Aadmi Party.

I write this from my base in London where the Diaspora which is intensely patriotic follows developments closely back home. Until you came along, the political and moral scenario was utterly depressing. The British media is largely negative in its coverage of Indian affairs. But there was a decisive shift when your Party won such a magnificent victory on the anti-corruption ticket. That gave great prominence to your Party’s realistic moves to undermine and eventually eradicate the corruption that so hideously hinders India’s advancement.

Your Party’s resounding declaration of unrelenting war on corruption has not only shaken the largely corrupt Indian Establishment and its accomplices in the all-powerful hypocritical media, but also served notice that the electoral contest is no longer just between two parties, but has a new element to contend with in the shape of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Let us not underestimate the nature of the challenge you face – it is a most formidable one. Your message has touched the hearts not only of the suffering millions in our country, but has been warmly received by intellectuals, workers and idealistic activists whose passionate desire is to create a highly efficient Indian economy which is not just the plaything of a handful of the obscenely corrupt rich who stash away billions of precious Indian currency in Swiss banks, but is the real enemy of Indian political cultural and social advancement.

Your highly principled stand will be endorsed by the Indian majority if you can publicise your political vision along with your party’s manifesto to the rest of India with a view to conquering political strongholds elsewhere in India, especially the southern states in the short term.

With Season’s Greetings,

Yours Sincerely,

Dr Cyriac Maprayil
