Indian teachers in Oman to be honoured

Muscat: The Best Teacher Awards for the year 2013-14, which recognise the contribution of Indian school teachers in Oman, would be presented here on Thursday. India's Ambassador to Oman JS Mukul will attend the function to be held at the Indian School Ghubra in Muscat, the Times of Oman reported on Wednesday. Thuwayba bint Ahmed Issa Barwani, professor at the Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, will deliver the keynote address. The awards will be presented by the board of directors of Indian schools in Oman. They will recognise teachers under five categories - kindergarten, primary, secondary, senior secondary and co-curricular activities. The winners will get a cash award, a trophy, a certificate of excellence.
