Indian-origin artists' works to exhibit in Europe, US

Singapore: Seminal works by two Indian-origin artists in an exhibition here are garnering appreciation from visitors with a US-based organiser vowing to take their paintings to Europe and US. "Work of more and more Indian artists will be taken for exhibitions in Europe and the United States," Anita Mager, president of LBL Europe, a non-profit painting art agency based in Los Angeles said here on Tuesday. "Altogether we have introduced 10 artists from Singapore, including five of Indian origin, in the last 3 years, and there will be more to come. "There is an increasing interest in Indian art works," she said at the inaugural of LBL's fourth exhibition in Singapore. "LBL was very proud to introduce these fine arts and the Indian artists to Europe," said Mager.

The 15-day exhibition, "Enchanting Moments", has four paintings by two Singapore-based Indian artists, Raja Mani and Reshma Singhania. UP-born Singhania, who lives in Singapore and studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts here, showcased her two paintings featuring Rajasthan's Mughal Milaap and Ganesha in Charcoal. Chennai-born Raja Mani, who works as a welder and technician in Singapore, presented his work "farmer" shown ploughing a field with two bulls and "future leaders" showing pupils in class. Raja Mani's work was also exhibited at InterArt in Greifswald, Germany held from July 2 to August 29. Renowned Indian painting artists, Maya Bhalla, Jayanthi Menon, and Joyotee Ray Chaudhury had participated in InterArt Greifswald with LBL art agency last year.
