A major general of the Indian Army committed suicide in Delhi


A major general of the Indian Army committed suicide at his house in Delhi on Friday.


The victim, identified as Rajpal Singh, was posted as additional director general (ADG), National Cadet Corps (NCC) in Patna, Bihar in September 2011 and was scheduled to retire on August 31.It is alleged that the major general was unhappy with his posting Delhi media reported the police saying,” the victim was depressed as he was not given his desired posting, Army sources said it was a case of marital discord.”


A suicide note was recovered in which Singh expressed disappointment with his posting.


Police are also speaking to the officer’s family to ascertaining whether there were any other reasons behind his extreme step.Singh was on holiday with family in Delhi and was scheduled to go back to Patna next week.
