'Bhaag Milkha...' inspires quality cinema: Sonam

Mumbai: Actress Sonam Kapoor is happy that her last release 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is setting a benchmark for filmmakers to churn out quality cinema. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra 'BMB' is a biopic on the life of former athlete Milkha Singh, portrayed by singer-actor Farhan Akhtar. Sonam played his love interest in the film. "A film like 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', doing well is a great way to inspire other filmmakers to make quality cinema... it is a great way forward. It has set an example and its brilliant. It makes me happy," Sonam said at the DVD launch of the film here.

The success of BMB had protagonist Farhan win all the accolades for his performance, and Sonam is fine with it. "I don't want to take credit. I don't think any one person be it actor or director or producer should get a credit alone, filmmaking is a team effort. If we talk about 'The Dirty Picture' then the heroine and director can take credit for it as it is woman centric film," Sonam said. "In case of 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' Farhan played Milkha and it is because of him that people got drawn to theatres. Everybody has their own market," she said
