Indian mother and child plunge to death from high-rise building in Dubai

Dubai: An Indian woman in her late 20s and her child fell to their death from a high-rise building in Dubai. The woman and child fell from the 11th floor of the Manhattan Tower building in Jumeirah village on Tuesday, the Gulf News reported on Wednesday. According to the report, the incident happened at around 11.30am. The woman's husband, who was at home when his wife and child fell from the balcony, is reportedly in police custody.

Police said they are not suspecting foul play. The family had been living in the building for almost a year. "The mother did not leave behind any letter that may indicate that she committed suicide," a police official was quoted as saying. "We cannot confirm any details about the death of the mother and her child until the investigation is complete. We cannot confirm yet if she killed herself and her baby or they just fell," he added.
