Indian swims in prohibited area in Sharjah, drowns

Dubai: A 31-year-old Indian man has drowned in Sharjah's Al Khan beach while swimming in a prohibited area. The man, identified as G.M., was swimming with his friends at the Al Khan beach, when he drowned on Friday evening, Khaleej Times reported. The victim had gone in an area that is forbidden for swimming, police said. His friends called the police and rescuers and managed to retrieve his body that was later taken for forensic examination, the report said. A top official at the Sharjah Police urged beach-goers to strictly follow the red signs prohibiting them from swimming in dangerous areas.
