KrishnaMenons Blue plaque unveiled in London

London: Former Indian Defence Minister and statesman V.K. Krishna Menon has been honoured in London by British Government. A


blue plaque in his honour was unveiled yesterday by former Cabinet Minister Tony Benn. today on 17 July in London. The function was at 30 Langdon Park Road in Highgate, the house he lived in his student days. He is the third Indian honoured in this way by the British.


Tonny Ben expressed his deep appreciation for Krishna Menon’s service to humanity and for the promotion of justice every where. Euro MP Claude Moraes in his speech admired the idealism and dedicated work of Krishna Menon while he was a local councillor and a campaigner for Indian independence.In his welcoming speech Dr.Cyriac Maprayil Executive Director of V.K. Krishna Menon institute stated”the phenomenon Krishna Menon could not be nailed by any one while alive, but thanks to English Heritage be managed to nail him with a blue plaque”Incidentally the room occupied by Krishna Menon is currently being used by white couple.More than fifty Indians and local people of various back grounds and culture attended the function.
